Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Commission and Pre Order Reports?

In order to understand the difference between the Commission Report and the Pre Order report it is important to understand the difference between Inventory Items and Presale Items.

Website Item Types

Inventory Items - normal items that our website and accounting program maintain inventory numbers on. Our website requires positive Available Inventory to sell.

Preorder Items - items that both our website and accounting program do not require Available Inventory to sell. Typically, all bundle items.

Once a presale is broken down and we want to require Available Inventory to take orders, items are changed to Inventory Items.

PreOrders vs Invoices

When a customer places an online order that contains all Inventory Items an invoice is created. When a customer online order contains at least one Preorder Item, an Order is created. Once an Order ships, it is converted to an Invoice.

Invoices hit our Commission Report immediately. No Orders hit the Commission Report (until they are converted to Invoices).

The Commission Report contains all items sold and paid for based on the Invoice date, in a specified date range.

The Pre Order Report contains all items that are on Orders (not yet converted to invoices).

In order to find out how many of a presale that has begun shipping has sold, you must add the quantities from the Commission Report + Pre Order Report. You can always ask us if you have a question on this.
